CommentGraceful
What does it mean to be graceful? Usually when one thinks of someone who is graceful it is in the context of physicality, like a ballerina or someone who carries herself with particular poise. There is graceful living, which connotes a certain sense of ease and comfort. There is the religious idea of grace, through which one achieves a state of sanctification by adhering to religious practices and beliefs. Then, of course, there is a different kind of grace entirely, one more nebulous and abstract, that has to do with acting with a sense of thoughtfulness. Continue Reading
Four Roads
From Seth Godin’s blog:
You might be stuck because you pick the wrong fork on a looping road. You keep getting better at the route you cover, but it doesn’t go anywhere, you just keep doing it over and over. Nine years of experience is very different from one year of experience, nine times.
You might be impatient or unable to stick to your decision to take this particular road, and thus you’re always starting on a new road. Since the new road is always strange to you, you rarely get any better at getting where you’re going.
You might be on the wrong road. Sure, you get better at navigating your way, you can walk faster, you feel more comfortable–but this road is never going to lead much of anywhere.
And, if you’re lucky, you might be on the right road, and getting better as you go.
I’m finding Seth Godin to be particularly philosophical, insightful and inspiring lately. Which road are you on?
Call Me Crazy
Over the weekend a link showed up in my Twitter feed to an old post from Paul Coelho’s Blog called It is considered normal. It’s a catalog of things that most people consider perfectly normal but, upon reflexion, are things we should be resisting as hard as we can. I believe this was Mr. Coelho’s point. (These were to appear later in his book The Winner Stands Alone Continue Reading.)
Cutting It
In a recent post I mentioned that I’ve been toying with the idea of short hair. After growing my hair out for a long time, I finally had long hair admired by all. Guys prefer long hair, it’s sexy, who doesn’t want to be sexy? Except that it got in my way all the time and all I ever did was put it up anyway. I had an impulse to go short a few months or so ago but chickened out at the last minute. The itch to shake things up and stir some new energy didn’t go away though, and finally I decided, damn it, I’m just a short hair person. Who cares what anyone else thinks or prefers? This Is Your Life
This is making the rounds of the internet – I found it here – and I believe that it bears sharing. Continue Reading

My name is Angela Eloise and I am a freelance writer. I recently moved to Seattle because I wanted a better home base to support my creative goals. And my shaman told me to. Cloud of Chaos was born from my desire to dance with the absurdity of life, to create a space where I could write and share all of the gorgeous, fun, snarky deliciousness I find spinning around me every day. What does a spinning cloud of chaos have to do with writing? Everything, as it turns out.
