Richard Scarry Google Doodle

Richard Scarry’s Best Story Book Everwas one of my favorites growing up, although I’m sure I had several of his books, a bibliophile even then. Today, on what would have been his 92nd birthday, Google honors this beloved children’s author with their homepage doodle.

Seven Day Itch

Sorry about Valentine's Day

No, I’m not talking about an STD; I’m referring to the last few days leading up to Valentine’s Day that have everyone from the swooningist romantic to the most hardened cynic squirming with some combination of anticipation and dread. (While I’m quite sure that a few people would actually prefer enduring the former, this is not an appropriate Valentine’s Day gift – just sayin’).
