Cloud of Chaos – The Year in Review
Yes, yes, everyone is doing their own look back at 2011, be it lists of best photography books or most controversial Zagat posts, greatest style moments or best mobile apps. But this past year was a good one for my little chaotic cloud and there are some milestones and megahits that deserve a bit of reflective glow.
The most visited post was I’m Dreaming of an Attic Office, which actually appeared in November of 2010. I guess 2011 was a big year for people striking out on their own, dreaming of a clean, well-lighted place, and searching for some design inspiration.
And then, of course, there were my personal favorites. Like children, posts that made me proud just for being them:
Dance to the Tangerine Tango
Adsurdism Ad Hilaritas
Pondering a Nom de Plume
I’m Being Recycled
Instagram: Twitter for the visual set
Bringing Back the Beret
Outrageous Fortune Telling
To Tweet or Not to Tweet, A Question of Diet
Tickled With Tico
A Yogini is Born
Helena Bonham Carter, Sartorial Iconoclast
Shoes, film, yoga, design, jewelry, Paris, lululemon, culture, Milan, ballet, and San Francisco were the most clicked tags.
April 1st was the single most popular day, doubtless because everyone liked my French take on April Fool’s Day. Followed by a close second on December 7th when The Slutcracker returned, which just goes to show that burlesque is big in Boston, even – and perhaps most especially – at Christmas.
December was the most active month, with more unique visitors and page hits than ever before. It’s rewarding to see that what began as a labor of love and a creative outlet for a repressed writer has evolved to be a more serious venue for content and creative curation and that it continues to grow and garner more fans. Thanks to all of you for that!
The official Cloud of Chaos Facebook page launched in November. This has provided a great way for me to share even more interesting stuff and to offer great content that you won’t see on the blog. I look forward to more Likes in 2012!
Speaking of 2012, I have some very exciting things planned to celebrate the site’s second birthday at the end of January, so stay tuned! Of course the new year will be filled with more of the same gorgeous, fun, snarky deliciousness that you have come to know and love here at the Cloud of Chaos.
Happy New Year everyone!

My name is Angela Eloise and I am a freelance writer. I recently moved to Seattle because I wanted a better home base to support my creative goals. And my shaman told me to. Cloud of Chaos was born from my desire to dance with the absurdity of life, to create a space where I could write and share all of the gorgeous, fun, snarky deliciousness I find spinning around me every day. What does a spinning cloud of chaos have to do with writing? Everything, as it turns out.
